Thinker . Lover . Rebel
These three archetypes of the last 100 years, have held power, ideals and cultural influence. The Thinker spilling over from the 19th century was supplanted by The Lover which in turn fading as the current icon evolves and builds its righteous fiction and culture in the 20th and 21st century - The Rebel.
The idea of an urban mythology and its sources is an amalgam of contemporary and historical narratives - allegories that weave their way through this installation. The three large carvings (8 foot cedar & tamarack), The Thinker, The Lover, The Rebel, come from the same story well of human subconscious as all narratives of human existence no matter the pictography.
